Abstract: Thousands of applications for mobility assessment services are received during the year. Whilst a large number of the applications meet the automatic eligibility criteria as set out in the guidance by the DfT The Blue Badge Scheme Local Authority Guidance (England) October 2014, there are however, applications that do not meet the automatic eligibility criteria and therefore require further mobility assessment. These assessments comply with and are assessed in accordance to the legislative requirements for mobility assessments that have no passed approval for automatic eligibility criteria.The mobility assessment process impacts on and benefits disabled residents in the community by enabling accessible and efficient transport facilities for disabled persons to be assisted in living independently.
