Description : UN Women Fiji MCO is part of the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Pacific Partnership) programme that was officially launched early 2018 bringing together governments, civil society organizations, communities and other partners to promote gender equality, prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG), and increase access to quality response services for survivors.
The programme is primarily funded by the European Union with targeted support from the Australian Government and cost-sharing by UN Women. It is being implemented through a partnership between the Pacific Community (SPC), Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and the UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office.
One of the key interventions of the programme across the countries is to strengthen service delivery coordination and collaboration, and the governance of services delivery overall. This includes developing national Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and referral pathways that unite all sectors and the establishment of service delivery data (i.e. administrative) data collection systems. In Fiji the Service Delivery Protocols were developed and piloted by the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation (MWCPA) with service providers from police, crisis centers, and the judiciary.
