Description : The revision of the Algerian Constitution, which was adopted on February 7, 2016, paves the way for a transition towards a more participative system, with a view to transforming the mode of governance.
It stems from the desire to widen democratic spaces and to establish effective governance as an advanced step in the dynamics of reforms, leading to the establishment of the rule of law, the strengthening of democracyparticipatory in the framework of a democratic, republican and social State
Several axes of reform have been favored, while taking care, on the one hand, to consolidate certain legislative provisions by raising them to the rank of constitutional norms and, on the other hand,, to introduce new ones within several chapters: Rule of Law, Human Rights and Democratic Freedoms, Strengthening of Power;
The Critical Dimension of RefoThe constitutional reform of 2016 is the strengthening of the rule of law. This desire can be found in the background of all the constitutional changes.
This objective is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, which, through Objective 16, call for the establishment of effective, accountable and efficient institutions. transparent at all levels.
