The u.s. Securities and exchange commission (sec) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to barra, llc, 250 greenwich street, floor 49, new york, ny, 10007-2340. The sec has a requirement for a fundamentals-based risk model subscription, including historical data, sufficient for calculating var and risk exposure for a significant coverage of equities, with potential extension to fixed income category. Barra is the only source that provides the required service and capabilities that meet the commission`s needs.

The total award value of the purchase order will be below the simplified acquisition threshold. The purchase order will be for a base period of 12 months and zero (0) option periods.

The sec intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of far subpart 13.106-1(b).this notice is not a competitive request for proposals.
