The scope reflects the digitisation of over 1.4M specimens that make up the National Herbarium Collection of NSW. The specimens are currently located in a series of red boxes in the National Herbarium NSW in what is known as the Brown Building. Each specimen will require preparation prior to the commencement of the digitisation process. Requirements for the preparation for digitisation of the collection include:o Agreed entry criteria for all specimens and scenario based exception processes for specimens that don't meet the readiness criteriao Machinery set up and testingo Specimen handling plano Pre-digitisation holding procedureso Operating staff recruitment and training processo End to end digitisation test plan (people, processes and systems)
