DVW has been organizing the removal of floating debris on the navigable waterways for many years to limit the damage caused by collision in shipping. To date, a pontoon with a crane (equipped with a sorting grab) has been used for this purpose on tide-bound waterways. The dirt that this pontoon with a crane flows towards, is collected and deposited in a container. On dIn the case of non-tidal waterways (eg on Dender), a sloop is made from upwards to collect waste or (eg on the Dijle) a truck-mounted crane picks up the collected dirt and deposits it in a container.
