FOR THE DESIGN AND BUILD SERVICES FOR ADVANCEMENT IN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND RECREATIONAL SERVICES - SENCO PHASE 2 (ST. ANDREW)

The Government of Jamaica has received funding from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in the amount of US$8, 948, 000.00 towards the cost of the Basic Needs Trust Fund Ninth Cycle (BNTF 9). The Jamaica Social Investment Fund as the implementing agency intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to cover payments under contracts for the following:

DESIGN & BUILD SERVICES FOR ADVANCEMENT IN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND RECREATIONAL SERVICES - SENCO PHASE 2, ST. ANDREW (#073601)

Scope: The project will involve the design and construction of an inclusive sensory playground to facilitate the play and development of special needs children in particular. The project will also involve the construction of bathrooms and associated treatment systems with access and portability for the disabled. The playground will house sensory activity wall, sensory tactile walkway, inclusive swing set (accommodating wheelchairs, children with cerebral palsy, swings to facilitate adults with disabled children, primary bipod swing, two-chair seat glider swing, etc.) Griffin Outdoor Percussion Musical Instruments, Metal commercial play system: “corral” mini-course, trampoline and aromatic plant area. The project will also include electrical pumped misters with associated potable water connection and the installation of LED outdoor security lighting and associated electrical system. Also included is the disabled accessible concrete pathway to guide users to the various elements of the playground.

The estimated delivery time is sixteen (16) months (including design, approvals, construction and 6-month defects liability period)
