The Government of the Republic of Niger has received funding from the African Development Bank (ADB) to cover the cost of the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Backbone (SDR) project, Component of Niger, and intends to use part of the sums granted under this donation to finance the contract of a firm for the control and monitoring of optical infrastructure implementation works and the monitoring of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) along the route of work on a linear of approximately 1, 000 km and over a period of execution of 14 months. It is planned to supervise and control, in particular, the following activities: (i) civil works, installation of optical fiber and construction of technical sites; (ii) supply, installation, and commissioning of the transmission equipment and the related supervision system; and (iii) supply, installation and commissioning of energy and air conditioning equipment.
