The Max Planck Institute for Physics requires thin-walled aluminum tubing for the ATLAS experiment an outer diameter of 15 mm, a wall thickness of 0.4 mm and an accuracy of the inner diameter of / - 0.08 mm. It29, 000 pieces each with a length of 1615 mm are required.

The aluminum tubes (drift tubes) are the core component of a new generation of muon detectors in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. The drift tubes will be installed as detectors in 2019-2022.
