Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is a small and robust university with high ambitions. Society, businesses and management have an increasing need for updated expertise. NMBU's competence ranges over the entire professional area and is, therefore, well equipped to take on its social responsibility, both within eminent research and teaching.

NMBU has its own environmental strategy and is a member of the Initiative for Ethical Trade (IEH). NMBU's ethical guidelines state that the university must require that the UN's human rights and the ILO's core conventions are fulfilled in the entire value chain affected by a procurement. NMBU has a large focus on major parts of the environmental improvements at the university being made through, amongst other things, good, appropriate and correct procurement processes.
