The proposed work is part of the widening of a 2, 5 km section of Hringvegur (1) between Hveragerai and Selfoss. The works include:

— widening of 2, 5 km section from 2-lanes to 4-lanes,

— a new T-junction to Hringvegur (1),

— 4 km of 2-lane minor roads,

— underpass for pedestrians,

— widening of a 12 m long concrete bridge.

The estimated main quantities are:

— fill 80 000 m,

— road base 80 000 m,

— cement stabilisation 23 000 m,

— asphalt concrete 61 000 m,
