In terms of improving the durability of asphalt roadIn 2013, changes and supplements were introduced in the technical regulations of asphalt road construction. These changes included u. a. Tests on commonly used road building and polymer modified bitumen. The results of these tests are used for the collection of experience. These data are recorded centrally in a database at the client (BMVI / BASt).

A statistiThe evaluation of these test data from 2014 and 2015 for binder manufacturers, asphalt mix producers and road construction authorities was carried out as part of an already completed research project (FE 29.0327 / 2013 / BASt.). The test data generated between 2016 and 2019 (approx 500 to 3, 000 data sets / year) must be statistically evaluated.

With a viewFuture European specifications for road construction bitumen (DIN EN 12591) and polymer modified bitumen (DIN EN 14023) have been amended in accordance with the General Circular Road Construction No. 8/2019. This collection will be continued in autumn 2019 with tests on short-term and long-term-aged binders. Here are also from cores extrahierte binder long-term aged. The results of the examinations will be central in the o. G. The database at the client (BMVI / BASt) must be recorded and statistically evaluated.

Furthermore, it should be analyzed how the rheological properties of the bitumen change. Changes occur in the course of the production chain and also when passing through the different Altations in the laboratory. These are also data sets from the o. G. The aim of this project is the development of evaluation criteria by means of statistical evaluation of the test data, which are suitable for the assessment of the rheological properties of bitumen.
