FE 82.0736 / 2019 Development of a method for generating a Safety performance indicator from the valuation of Euro NCAP.

Overall objective of the project is the EDevelopment of a method for how the Euro NCAP assessment of new vehicles can be used to develop a Safety Performance Indicator, which represents a characteristic for the safety equipment of the vehicle fleet. At the end of the process development, this must be operationalized in such a way that an annual derivation of the SPI can take place. It is to show what a change of the SPI for theres safety level, expressed in accident numbers, on the road means. With this step, the already existing method of NCAP evaluation, which already represents a very well-developed system for safety assessment, both in its depth and breadth of the various concerns of vehicle technology, would be used to provide a superior valid indicator for the qualityt of the vehicle technology of the fleet with regard to traffic safety.
