The task of the design in the context of the new, conversion and expansion of roads is the proof that and with what quality the traffic demand to be expected on a road traffic system can be handled the introduction of the Manual for the Design of Road Traffic Systems (HBS)also standardize the transport demand underlying the procedures in such a way that the traffic densities of the nth highest loaded hour have been defined as design traffic volumes, which are also referred to as the authoritative traffic standards (MSV).
