Main Site: Place of fulfillment: Bergisch Gladbach

Air pollutant measurements show that the limits of the 39th BImSchV for some air pollutants, especially at traffic-related conditionsIn some cases, they are greatly exceeded. Among others, the limit value maintenance of the particle fractions PM10 and PM2, 5 causes problems and if the limit values are exceeded, traffic routes and the like are threatening. a also traffic restrictions. For the planning of pollution-reducing measures in the course of road construction and new road construction serve models that continuously improve the entrancedata must be subjected. For the modeling, emission factors over the abrasions of different road surfaces contributing to the particle fractions PM10 and PM2, 5 are required in as high a precision as possible. Currently, however, the FGSV guidelines RLuS only contain fixed emission factors for non-engine-related abrasion emissions, some of which are associated with great uncertainty-The aim of the project is therefore to carry out a systematic investigation of the abrasion behavior and thus the particle emission of different road surfaces, to quantify the results and to give a recommendation for the consideration of derived emission factors in the RGS Guidelines. For this purpose, the previous knowledge about abrasion mass in dependencet of the road surface characteristics and tests of the road surface for samples from the asphalt and concrete constructions as well as investigations at the rock corrugations are carried out. The abrasion mass should be quantified as a function of various boundary parameters and the emission factors of the particle fractions PM10 and PM2.5 determined for the considered road surfaceearth. Differences in the PM10 and PM2, 5 emission factors shall be quantified by model calculations using a suitable calculation method. The results of the measurements and model calculations shall continue to be systematized and analyzed and checked for their transferability.
