FE 02.0409 / 2017 / LRB The potential of traffic lanes to promote biodiversity and its role in propagationOther types
The structural and landscape elements on railway and road routes and waterways are places of liv- ing for animals and plants whose ecological value tends to increase. As a network, they are elements of a "green infrastructure". Traffic vehicles and traffic routes also play an important role in the introduction, spread and establishment of alien species (neobiota)Outstanding role
The importance of traffic surfaces as biotopes, their possible role as networking elements in a biotope network, and their significance as propagation paths for alien species are to be examined in the Hildesheim research area, for example.
To do this:
1) Biotope type mapping;
2) Vegetation recordings and
3) Faunistic surveys on selected Tcarried out in groups.
As a result:
1) the type and spatial continuity of biotope types and their influence by neophytes;
2) the potential of traffic surfaces to improve ecological connectivity and biodiversity conservation.
The research results of the proposed project are intended as a basis for:
1) the Optimi2) a cross-traffic improvement of the ecological connectivity of transport routes;
