FE 03.0574 / 2018 / HRB Impact of Soil on the Behavior of Vehicle Soil Retention Systems

FE 03.0574 / 2018 / HRB Behavior of vehicle restraints

Main Site: Bergisch Gladbach

Currently vehicle restraint systems in Germany have to be usedmood of the performance data on a test bench are subjected to various impact tests. The load transfer of the occurring impact forces into the soil takes place via rammed posts of the steel systems, anchoring elements or via the design of the underside of the protective devices made of concrete. Case studies already discussed in international experts have shownIn order to achieve the performance data, protection structures made of steel or concrete in the ZTV FRS and in the installation manuals are currently being tested for soil classes in accordance with DIN 18300 (old) directed. In the new editions-2015 of DIN 18300 and DIN 18304, the previous soil classes have been replaced by homogeneous areas. Thus, in the future, a detailed description of the required soil properties in the soil layers relevant for protective equipment is required. Theoretical preliminary investigations by comprehensive research on the current state of knowledge and state of affairs form the basis for the broaderre approach in this project. This is further subdivided into two sub-steps of different main research areas: while in sub-step A experimental investigations are performed on single posts and complete safety devices, in step B validated simulation models with mapped properties of the soil are to be developed, different modeling techniquesto study iken and variational studies on factors influencing soils. The findings of the sub-steps are transferred to the overall research goal in the derivation of simple construction-practical criteria for soil conditions. This also includes the adaptation of the sample texts for tenders.
