Reference Number : HSE 13283

The Health Service Executive (on behalf of all Publicly Funded Health Agencies) invites tenders from suitably qualified parties capable of offering post-graduate nurse and midwife education in Ireland, to develop and deliver education programmes at NFQ Level 9 for advanced nursing and advanced midwifery practice for up to 110 nurses and midwives per academic year.

This tender exercise will be conducted with the HEI's that offer nurse/midwife education, to select a provider(s) that can offer both a one year graduate certificate education programme and a 2 year part-time option for a broad based Masters level education programme Advanced Practice Nursing and Advanced Practice Midwifery to commence in September 2020.

The new model goes a long way towards ensuring that care is delivered to the right person, at the right time and in the right place as close to home as possible. Importantly, it also puts in place a career pathway for nurses and midwives, which is a key element in recruitment and retaining staff.

The aim of the policy is to have 2 % of the nursing and midwifery workforce working as advanced n
