Monitoring of the Spreading Pathway Through the Import of Plant Products

The project will further develop the monitoring of foreign species that come to Norway spread through the import of plant products. The monitoring will include three activities:

The project will further develop the monitoring of foreign species that come to Norway, spread through the import of plant products. The monitoring will include three activities:

1) Samples from the transport vector (containers) at the entry points;

2) Indoor investigation at the locations of the entry points;

3) Area specific monitoring in habitats surrounding the locations.

The project duration is 5 years with an option to extend for another 5 years. The project also include several other options. The main assignment is estimated to be 1 500 000 NOK excluding VAT per year (2019 — 2023). The project also contains the following options:

1) Further development of the monitoring (2024 — 2028) (1 500 000 NOK excluding VAT per year);

2) Literature studies of source populations (up to 400 000 NOK excluding VAT);

3) Use of new technology (up to 500 000 NOK/year);

4) Extra import and field locations (up to 600 000 NOK/year);

5) Negotiation (up to 200 000 NOK);

6) Scientific publication (up to 150 000 NOK).
