NHS South of England Procurement Services (SoEPS), acting on behalf of Health Education England (HEE — the commissioner) are commencing a tender for the provision of pre-registration pharmacy technician training — Health Education England.

Lot 1 is for 61 trainees face to face training at a maximum envelope of 250 100 GBP across 3 years.
For Lots 1 and 2 PTPTs will be employed by NHS managed sector hospitals across London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Forecast demand from employers across the London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Geography has informed the requirements of enrolment for approximately 108 learners onto a February 2020 cohort.
For Lot 3 PTPTs will be employed by a lead employer from a consortium of hospitals, community and general practice or home care across the 4 regions; London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex, Midlands and East, North and South. Forecast demand across the national integrated training scheme project is 48 PTPTs; 12 PTPTs in London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex, 12 PTPTs in Midlands and East, 12 PTPTs in the North and 12 PTPTs in the South.
Enrolled learners across all lots must be employed as a pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician (PTPT), working under the supervision, direction or guidance of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician and directly accountable to them for at least 14 hours per week at the point of enrolment. Trainees will need to successfully complete the training programme in order to register with the GPhC.
The maximum programme value, over 2 years is 606 350 GBP (inclusive of VAT). The commissioner retains the option to extend the contract by a further 2 years, subject to review and availability of budget.
Lot 1 is for 61 trainees face to face training at a maximum envelope of 250 100 GBP across 2 years.
Lot 2 is for 47 trainees via virtual classroom/e-learning at a maximum envelope 176 250 GBP across 2 years.
Lot 3* is for 48 trainees via virtual classroom/e-learning at a maximum envelope 180 000 GBP across 2 years. * Subject to additional budget approval, there is potential the maximum number of trainees for Lot 3 will increase to 96 with a maximum envelope of 360 000 GBP across 2 years.
All figures are inclusive of VAT.
The deadline for submission of completed ITT submissions is 18.10.2019 at 12.00 p.m. (midday). Late submissions will not be accepted. The e-portal system will shutdown at 12.00 p.m. and any un-submitted bids not registered to the system at this time will not be accepted. Therefore, please submit in good time prior to the deadline date and time.
