This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which was published on the EBRD website, Project Procurement Notices (http://www.ebrd.com/pages/workingwithus/procurement/project.shtml) on 5.1.2017..
Engurhesi Ltd, hereinafter referred to as "the Client", intends using part of the proceeds of a Grant from the European Commission (EU/NIF), which is administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, hereinafter referred to as "the Bank" towards the cost of Enguri Hydro Power Plant Rehabilitation Project..
The Client intends prequalifying firms and consortia to tender for the following contract(s), hereinafter referred to as "the Contract", to be funded from part of the proceeds of the Grant..
The aim of the Contract is to carry out rehabilitation of the access roads to Enguri Hydro Power Plant..
The Enguri HPP is located in the west Georgia, Abkhazia Region, 14 kilometers from the temporary border checkpoint of Abkhazia..
The scope of the Contract includes the rehabilitation of the following facilities:.
— preparation and placement of a new reinforced concrete road in 6, 5 m wide from Abkhazian checkpoint to Enguri HPP. The total length of the road is 13, 4 km, out of which 10, 7 km from Abkhazian border to Chegali settlement (a former asphalt road) consisting earthworks, compaction, placement of reinforced concrete pavement and renewal or rehabilitation of road structures. The remaining 2, 8 km road (existing concrete road) to the Enguri HPP will only be rehabilitated and partial repair works shall be carried out when necessary, .
— preparation and placement of a new road surface along the pressure tunnel in 5 m wide consisting rehabilitation or renewal of road structures. The estimated total length of the road is approx. 5, 7 km, out of which 2, 3 km is proposed to be a new gravel road and 0, 85 km is proposed to be a new concrete road and the remaining 2, 5 km is requested to be maintained by partial repairs, .
— topographic surveying for roads described above, .
— rehabilitation of Chegali Town roads of 1, 44 km (optional), .
— finishing works for recently constructed concrete road from Abkhazian border to Vardnili 1 HPP; provision of shoulders at both banks along the road (optional)..
The Client will provide basic designs for the rehabilitation activities..
The rehabilitation activities can be implemented concurrently. The expected construction period is 8-10 months..
Prequalification and tendering for contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a Grant from the European Commission is open to firms and joint ventures of firms from any country..
