The ARA Glarnerland cleans the sewage of large parts of the canton of Glarus and of individual St. Gallen communities. In the years 2017-2018 the waterway was rehabilitated and the capacity increased.

In the next stage, the sludge treatment will be rehabilitated from the middle of 2019 and the capacity of the sludge treatment will be increased to 105'000 PE. The stage mud includes the renewal of the procedural installations, as well as the renovation of the building / facade of the 4 digger towers / sludge stacksIn the last stage from about 2021 it is planned to add an additional cleaning step to the elimination of micropollutants.
