In this sense, the purpose of the public procurement is to choose a contractor, to provide archaeological observation during construction in connection with the forthcoming implementation of the project: "Sofia Ring Road in the section of km 35 260up to km 41 340 (from Tsarigradsko Shose road junction to Mladost road junction) and in order to comply with the legal requirements.

According to the wording of Art. 161, para. 2 of the Cultural Heritage Act (ZKN) and Chapter II, Section 2 of Ordinance for conducting field archaeological studies No. H-00-0001 of 14.2.2011, in the process of construction worksArcheologists are observing

Methodologically, archaeological observation is a field study to determine the presence of archaeological structures at a given site. This measure is applied during construction activities and does not involve excavation. Archaeological observation is an activity whose primary purpose is to determine the presence of archeological structuresplace. Archeological surveillance shall be applied to prevent the destruction or endangerment of unknown archeological sites. If archaeological structures are identified during the survey, the excavation work shall be stopped and the scientific supervisor shall inform the competent authorities. If archeological structures are found, the scientific advisor is obligeddocument them and prepare the initial registration of the site in the AIS AKB. In case archeological structures are discovered during the observation, Art. 148 and 160 of the Cultural Heritage Act, with the Minister of Culture appointing a committee to propose follow-up. With the approval of the minutes of the committee, the Minister of Culture makes the necessary regulationsthese activities for the study and protection of structures and findings.

The participant must be a cultural or scientific organization, in accordance with the conditions of Art. 20, para. 5 of Ordinance No. H-00-0001 of 2/14/2011 on conducting field archaeological studies.
