Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) contracts with many different types of organisations and individuals to provide goods and services. ADHB also is contracted to provide services by the government and other organisations. There are thousands of contracts that the DHB manages. These contracts are managed by various service provider groups and internal departments (i.e. Facilities, Legal, HR, etc.), while still other contracts are managed by healthAlliance FPSC, who is the regional shared services provider. ADHB and hA FPSC have identified opportunities to improve the way they currently manage contracts and mitigate potential risks.
A great challenge currently faced by the ADHB and hA FPSC is the lack of a single source of truth for contract information that will enable management control over all contracts types and contract information. There currently is a fragmented management of the contract life cycle that results in the DHB not optimising contract benefits.
Both organisations have basic contract management or contract repository tools. These are not fully fledged Contract Management System and are not able to manage the entire contract life cycle and enable reporting and other business requirements.
