Expression of Interest are invited for Consulting Services for Wind Resource Assessment in Karamoja Sub-Region.

The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received a Project Preparation Grant from the Strategic Climate Fund, through the African Development Bank, towards the cost of the Wind Resource Map and Pilot-Wind Power Development Program (in line with the Scaling-up Renewable Energy Program), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this Grant to payments under the contract for consultancy services for the Wind Resource Assessment in Karamoja Sub-region.

The services included under this consultancy are, among others, pre-feasibility studies of at-least six (6) sites including associated Environmental & Social Impact Assessments, Wind Resource Assessment for Karamoja sub-region and preparation of a Wind Energy Resource Strategic & Investment Guide. The Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development (MEMD) will be the Implementing Agency on behalf of GoU. The assignment will take at-least 24 months. MEMD now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services.

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions/sub-Saharan Africa, availability of appropriate skills among staff and legal documents including certificate of registration/incorporation etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Bank’s procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015 which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
