Tenders are invited for Consulting Services to Develop the National Elephant Management Plan of Namibia

The Objective of this Consultancy is for a Team of Consultants to Develop the
National Elephant Management Plan. Elephant Numbers in Namibia are
Estimated at around 24, 000. About 80% (19, 549) of the Total Population of
Elephants Occurs in North-Eastern Namibia in Two Key Populations in the
Areas of Khaudum-Tsumkwe, and around the Kavango-Zambezi Parks.
The Remainder of the Country`s Elephant Population is Located in Etosha National
Park, Kunene Region, Erongo Region and Private Farms.
A Holistic Vision and Plan for the National Elephant Herd of Namibia is Required.
This should not Focus on Management of Elephants Per Se. But on the Role
Of Elephants within Namibian and Global Society, and the Contribution that
Elephants Make to the Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Namibia and
The Kaza Region, and to the Improved Wellbeing of the Namibian People.
