Tenders are invited for CONSULTANTS ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONALIZATION OF A GENDER POLICY WITHIN THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION, TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING (MENETFP).
The Government of Côte d'Ivoire (GoCI) and the Government of the United States of America, acting through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), signed on November 7, 2017 a Compact Program "the Compact- Côte d'Ivoire" $ 524, 740, 000 to fund identified projects in the Education and Transportation sectors.
The MCA-Côte d'Ivoire Agency is the entity mandated by the Ivorian Government to coordinate and implement the Compact Program, which includes two major projects namely: i) the Skills for Employability and Productivity Project; Which aims at the development of human capital through investments in secondary education and in technical education and vocational training and ii) and the "Abidjan Transport" Project whose aim is to improve the movement of goods and people in Abidjan.
The Millennium Challenge Account-Côte d'Ivoire Agency (MCA-Côte d'Ivoire) plans to launch a request for proposals for the selection of a consultant for the implementation of the sub-activity "Gender Policy in Education and Training". institutional strengthening ". Through this opinion, MCA-Côte d'Ivoire, through the National Committee of the Compact Program Côte d'Ivoire (CNPC), invites the consultants to comment on the proposed terms of reference, before the launch of the contract. .
The objectives of the service, subject of the terms of reference submitted for consultation, are to support the MENETFP to: (i) create and operationalize a new Gender Action Unit (UAG) within the Ministry, (ii) develop a policy and a five-year implementation plan for this policy, (iii) develop and implement a priority action plan, and (iv) build the capacity of UAG stakeholders and key stakeholders. The design and implementation of these mechanisms during the Compact period will reduce gender disparities in access, retention and academic outcomes in the education system in Côte d'Ivoire at the national and regional levels.
