Expression of Interest are invited for Consultant in Charge of Developing ECST Communication Materials.

1. Introduction

1.1 The African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to express their interest in the mission of a Consultant in charge of developing ECST communication materials.

1.2 As part of its dissemination policy, ECST relies on the communication department and sometimes on external consultants for the development of promotional materials. Difficulties have repeatedly appeared in the context of this production and consequently leading to a delay in the finalization of the documents produced.

2. Objectives and Attribution

2.1 The services provided under this mission include:

(i) Identify the appropriate illustrations / images / layout for each communication medium; (ii) Arrange texts, tables, graphs, images and drawings in typographic and graphic form; (iii) Help finalize the materials of the various departmental publications; The consultant must make improvements to the documents until the quality is deemed satisfactory by ECST.

3. Qualifications

3.1 The Department of Statistics (ECST) invites Individual Consultants to apply for the services described above. Interested Individual Consultants must provide information on their ability and experience demonstrating that they are qualified for services

I. Background and rationale

As part of its dissemination policy, ECST relies on the Department of

communication and sometimes on external consultants for the development of promotional materials. Difficulties have repeatedly appeared in the context of this production and consequently leading to a delay in the finalization of the documents produced. As part of the revitalization process, ECST plans to implement several types of communication media. To do this, it is envisaged the recruitment of a Consultant in Computer Assisted Production (DTP) / computer graphics. These materials will be used to show the productions and achievements of ECST.

II. Mission of the consultant

The consultant will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

1. Identify the appropriate illustrations / images / layout for each communication medium.

2. Propose technical specifications for each material (format, size, grammage, etc., ..)

3. Finalize the models and technical specifications taking into account the recommendations.

4. Arrange texts, tables, graphs, images and drawings in typographic and graphic form (development of models).

5. Be able to design, process and digitize creations and documents using DTP software (illustrations, layouts, image editing).

7. Help finalize promotional materials for the agriculture project.

III. Expected results

The consultant will deliver each model on CD or USB as per the printer and ECST specifications. The consultant must make improvements to the documents until the quality is deemed satisfactory by ECST.

This work must be completed within 6 months from September 1, 2018.

V. Profile and recruitment of the consultant

The DTP consultant will:

1. Have a diploma in PAO and at least two years of experience in the design of teaching aids;

2. Have relevant and relevant experiences in the development of high quality media for international organizations.

3. Have a very good knowledge of the Adobe CS Collection (recent versions) or Xpress, Illustrator and Photoshop (PAO) software in a Macintosh environment.
