Since 1985, more than 200 United Nations volunteers have been recruited and deployed in Togo, of which 14 are currently located in the following agencies: UNDP, UNHCR, UNREC, UNFPA, WHO. These Volunteers work in all the different localities of the country, in order to to contribute to the missions of mobile clinics, disarmament, communication, protection of refuThe activities within these agencies are important opportunities to give more visibility to the added value of volunteerism and United Nations volunteers in achieving the SDGs in Togo, as well as show positive impacts at the local community level through the promotion of volunteering.United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is the United Nations organization that contributes to peace and development through volunteerism around the world. Volunteering is a powerful way to engage people in the challenges of development, and it can transform the pace and nature of development. Volunteering benefits bothto society in general and to the individual volunteer by building trust, solidarity and reciprocity among citizens, and by deliberately creating opportunities for participation. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating the recognition of volunteers, working with partners to integrate volunteering into thedevelopment programs and mobilizing a growing number of volunteers, including experienced UNV volunteers, around the world. UNV sees volunteerism as universal and inclusive, and recognizes volunteerism in its diversity, as well as the values that support it: free will, commitment, commitment and solidarity.The Communications Section focuses on clear and effective messages to increase the visibility and impact of UNV.
