Consultancy support for the City of London Carbon Sequestration Study
Project Description - The purpose of this study is to evaluate the current level of carbon sequestration and carbon storage in the Open Spaces that are owned and managed by the City of London Corporation, and to identify land management options, partnerships with other land owners and land acquisition which could increase future carbon sequestration potential. The proposed outcome will be a technical report detailing the findings of the study along with a carbon sequestration trajectory to 2050. This work will contribute to the Responsible Business Strategy's Outcome 2: The planet is healthier Priority 4 Climate Change The consultant will provide a technical report which will provide a commentary on the options for land management to maximise carbon sequestration from City Corporation managed Open Spaces along with a trajectory showing carbon sequestration potential to 2050 in line with government carbon budget periods. The technical report will make recommendations as to future options for land acquisition or management on behalf of others which could contribute to net zero carbon goal for the City Corporation and the Square Mile.
