CONSULTANCY "SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION OF LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS"



§ Background

The communication strategy of the Cooperation Program 2018-2022 of UNICEF Dominican Republic, has among its main objectives to contribute to each and every one of the children and adolescents in the country having access to their rights and developing their full potential.

For this, its priority activities include the dissemination of information on the problems that affect children and the possible interventions to improve the situation of this, as well as the programs, projects and studies that UNICEF carries out in this regard.

This information must be disseminated through the media, either live or recorded.

UNICEF is committed to ensuring that children, adolescents and adults have access to information relevant to their rights through the media. In this sense, we seek to have qualified consultants in:

§ Simultaneous interpretation and translation documents (Spanish-English / English-Spanish)

§ Simultaneous interpretation (Spanish-Kreyol / Kreyol-Spanish)

Description of the requirement

It is required to invite to participate to belong to the bank of UNICEF eligibles, providers of translation services of documents and simultaneous interpretation of the Spanish language into English and / or Creole, in order to accompany representatives of UNICEF in external communication activities where the organization has a presentation, either live or recorded or requires the translation of official documents in accordance with the indicated.

Increase the bank of eligible suppliers with high skills to offer document translation and language interpretation services for UNICEF.

§ Duration of the service agreement

The validity within the eligible bank is for a period of twelve (12) months from the signing of the agreement, with the possibility of extension prior evaluation.



Place of the contract

The required activities will be developed in the National District. UNICEF will not provide logistical support (physical office space, photocopier, expendable material, telephone or other resources).

If services are required for another place outside the National District and within the Dominican Republic, the conditions for transfers and / or accommodations will be reviewed.

§ Way to pay

Payments will be made in national currency (Dominican pesos) and if you have received a proposal in the currency of US dollars, for the purpose of payment will be converted according to the rate published by the United Nations at https: //treasury.un .org / operationalrates / OperationalRates.php at the time of payment, and at 30 days, according to the delivery of the proforma invoice and satisfactory reception of the services by the requesting area.

§ Profile of the Consultant

a. Higher studies preferably in the areas of communication and / or languages.

b. Courses or specialties in simultaneous interpretation of language and / or translation

c. One (1) year or more of experience in the service.

d. Physical person with proven experience in simultaneous interpretation services and translation of language documents (English and / or Creole).

e. Individual, adult and verifiable reference preparation in English and / or Creole.

f. Preferable with experience in work with international organizations, NGOs or State institutions.

g. Provision to move at their own expense within the National District.
