Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy Services for the Preparation of Investment Plan for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services in North Kordofan, West Kordofan and North Darfur States, Sudan.

The Government of Sudan has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Water Sector Reforms and Institutional Capacity Development Program (WSRP), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for the Preparation of Investment Plan for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services in North Kordofan, West Kordofan and North Darfur States, Sudan.

The services included under this project are:

1- Baseline, water demand, socioeconomic and environmental& social studies in the three selected areas

2- Identifying and assessing potential groundwater resources

3- Study on the most cost-effective options for provision of sustainable water supply and sanitation services.

4- Preparation of an investment master plan comprising: (i) preliminary designs and cost analysis; (ii) environmental and social impact studies; and (iii) sustainability analysis including institutional capacity and operational & maintenance cost

5- Preparation of design and tender document of the required the transmission pipelines and associated infrastructure, and sanitation infrastructure

6- Environmental and social impact assessment study including preparation of resettlement action plan

The Drinking Water& Sanitation Unit (DWSU) of the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation & Electricity now invites consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the shortlist and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for the Use of Consultant dated May 2008, Revised July 2012, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
