1. Responsibilities:
You provide assistance, advice and support to Worldwide Missions and Mine Action Projects specifically in Colombia, Lao PDR, Libya and Middle East on efforts to ensure high performance and quality delivery of projects and to build Human Resources- capacity to undertake land release activities and more globally Conventional Weapon Risk Reduction. You support HI-s expansion and strategic development of Conventional Weapons Risk Reduction. You ensure that HI Mine Action services/activities comply with international/national mine action standards, best practices promulgated by the UN and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining, the standards for compliance with HI mine action clients as well as with HI internal processes.
In each visited country the Consulting Company will:
· Ensure Quality Assurance & Control in accordance with international/national standards, regulations and HI SOPs
· Coordinate and provide technical support for country/project-based activities
· Support the strategic development, Project Design & reporting at field and/or HQ level
· Deliver relevant training to field and HQ staff
· Support HI networking and external relations within the Mine Action community
· Contribute to the identification of funding opportunities and liaise when required
· Support the process of HI becoming a clearing-house for relevant, up-to-date and useable data
2. Deliverable:
· 1 Technical report and recommendation for each country/project visited
· 1 QAQC report for each country/project visited
· 1 report for each event-s participation (technical reviews, conferences, workshop etc.)
· A set of EOD/IEDD technical standards produced
· 1 report for each training delivered
3. Specific conditions:
· Duration of the contract: 12 months
· HI will cover expenses for field travel
· Affectation: home based + frequent travels in Europe, Middle East, South America and South East Asia. The anticipated planning is the following :
251 working days:
-20 in Colombia
-10 in Lao
-20 in Libya
-40 in ME
-20 in HQ Lyon/Brussels
-10 in Geneva
· 120 working days on the field
· 131 days home based
The exact planning will be decided between HI and the Consulting Company at the beginning of the contract.
