UNICEF-s Strategic Plan 2018-2021 sets out ambitious goals, result areas, change strategies and enables and includes important areas of focus for the human resources function. The Strategic Plan will be translated into action by our most important resource - the knowledge, expertise and experience of over 13, 000 staff working across 190 countries (UNICEF SP, 2018-2021).

Our Human Resources Strategy (2018-2021) supports UNICEF's Strategic Plan and incorporates three high level goals: shaping a workforce that meets the Organizations' current and evolving needs and creating an environment where staff can excel; developing and leveraging the talents of managers and staff to successfully contribute as individuals, teams and across Organizational boundaries; and nurturing and creating a results based culture of accountability, effectiveness and efficiency (UNICEF HR Strategy, 2018-2021).

How can you make a difference?

The Recruitment Centre of Expertise (CoE), Division of Human Resources supports the business objectives of UNICEF by providing content expertise related to recruitment and talent acquisition and more importantly, delivers talent acquisition solutions and strategic talent management support that is tailored to the business needs of the Organization. In this context, the Recruitment CoE seeks a Consultant to work on development of an integrated Talent Management Framework, including, but not limited to the following:

§ Design of a strategic, comprehensive Global Talent Management Framework. This will include engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders

§ Provision of talent management tools, solutions and streamlined processes for use across the Organization that align to the business strategy and priorities of the Organization

§ Strategies for change management and approaches for fostering effective talent management

§ Metrics for measurement of success/effective talent outcomes

The start date for this consultancy is 14 December 2018 for a period of 6 months. The consultant is expected to work 12 days per month, as per agreed upon deliverables and timelines.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

A Master-s degree in HR management, business administration, social sciences, education or related field is required.

Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN working language an advantage.

At least 10 years of professional experience in human resources.

Proven expertise in design of a Talent Management Framework in a global organization

Experience in talent management, succession planning and staff development.

Proven ability to lead development of Organizational strategies.

Demonstrated understanding of best practices in HR and talent management

Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN working language an advantage.

§ Knowledge of current theories and practices in human resources management

§ Very good ability to articulate clear and concise ideas and concepts in written and oral form

§ Excellent writing, strategic and analytical skills

§ Works effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously and adapts to changing demands and circumstances

§ Ability to collaborate effectively with others and build relationships

§ Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of software MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
