Tender Details

General Procurement Notice for Construction of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Distribution Systems.

Lot 1 – Rehabilitation of 280 km of MV Distribution Lines, Replacement of Two Hundred Seventy Nine (279) Distribution Transformers and Installation of Four (4) 33/15 kV Primary Substations;

Lot 2 – Construction of 265km MV Distribution Lines, Installation of Distribution Transformers and One (1) 45/33/15kV, and Nine (9) 33/15 kV Primary Substations; and

Lot 4 – Installation of MV Distribution System Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Telecommunication System.

The Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has applied a loan from the African Development Fund to finance the Addis Ababa Transmission & Distribution Rehabilitation & Upgrading Project (AATDRUP).

The principal objectives of this project are to :

? Meet demand growth and help more customers to connect;

? Replace specifically identified equipment in poor physical condition;

? Reduce loss and improve quality of supply;

? Relieve an existing or imminent constraint on the network; enhance System operations, reliability and security of Supply; and

? Phaseout 45kV substations based on the strategy set by Ethiopian Power System Expansion Master Plan.

Procurement of goods and works, and acquisition of consulting services will be carried out in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group funded operations, dated October 2015.

Request for Expression of Interest for the acquisition of consultants for the provision of Project Supervision and Management Services are expected to be issued in November 2017 while Bidding Documents for the procurement of works contracts are expected to be available in February 2018.
