General Procurement Notice for Construction of Approx. 70 Km 500 Kv Single Circuit Ohl New Lajanuri-Tskaltubo.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.

The main direction of development of Georgian transmission grid is to reinforce of 500kV transmission grid from West (HPPs) to East and South (Consumption and Export), to integrate to the grid the new HPPs and to reinforce the cross-border transmission network. In order to optimize the load flows, increase the transfer capacity, improve the security of supply of the grid, and be able to connect the new HPP's to be constructed, JSC Georgian State Electrosystem ("GSE") has developed a 10 Year Network Development Plan for Georgia.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the German Financial Cooperation through KfW Development Bank now intend to provide funding towards the cost of the Open Program Extension Transmission Network Georgia (Phase 2). Consulting services will be paid from KfW funds and partly from grants funds provided through the Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF) of the EU.
