Scope: Conservation Through Economic Empowerment. The evaluation and assessments, as well as pause and reflect sessions carried out with staff and existing partners, identified a number of actions needed to strengthen CARPE: Work with a broader range of partners with different skills and experience, including local partners and the private sector, Ensure community development activities attain the scale and sustainability needed to provide sufficient incentives and pathways to mitigate threats to biodiversity and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, Address bushmeat and fisheries overexploitation across sectors (health, agriculture, nutrition) Support economic and business models for community forestry to provide needed incentive structures for sustainability, Develop a stronger link between policy, capacity and landscape activities
