The Council wishes to establish a contract for the provision of a Birmingham Carers HUB providing a range of services to support carers in the city. This service (Contract 1) will have close links to the Young Carers Service (Contract 2) and Mental Health Service (Contract 3), all services are separate procurements. This contract will last for 2 years and 9 months (unless terminated under the terms of the contract).

Abstract: The service being procured is available for all carers 18 years and over in Birmingham. It is highly desirable that the future Birmingham Carers HUB will develop into a Citywide Single Point of Access. Initial referrals will determine the best possible service provision in line with carers needs. The expected key deliverables include but are not restricted to:— statutory carer assessment, — registration and preliminary assessment to increase identification, — carers passport, — provision of advice and information for adult carers, — emotional, practical and peer support including 1:1 support, carers groups and advocacy, — awareness raising and engagement, — training in relation to the caring role to include practical and manhandling particularly at home, — bereavement support, — carers emergency and planned response, — support to parent carers, — annual carers survey, — young carers transitioning to adulthood, — awareness of needs of young carers and work closely with young carer services, — carers wellbeing payments administration and delivery, — small grants for specialist service administration and delivery, — health liaison project, — specialist support dementia carers, — strategic intelligence and data.The service is expected...
