Tender Details

Aflcmc/hnak intends to award a contract extension of the battlefield airborne communications node (bacn) follow-on operations and sustainment contract (contract number fa8726-18-c-0005) to provide continued o&s support for the bacn payload airborne and ground equipment. This contract extension would increase the total period of performance of this contract, not to exceed an additional two (2) years. The bacn program provides the air force (af) with a flexible, long-endurance, and multi-mission airborne communications capability. The bacn weapons system is comprised of four e-11as (bombardier bd-700 aircraft with installed bacn payload equipment) and four eq-4bs (block 20 global hawk aircraft with installed bacn payload equipment). Additionally, the bacn weapons system consists of payload control elements (pce) launch and mission ground stations that are deployed with the air vehicles and are used to control the payload during all phases of operation.

The contractor will perform tasks and provide personnel, facilities, and material necessary to successfully operate, maintain, and support the bacn payload hardware, software, and support equipment. This includes oconus and conus support, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, major/minor software builds, and logistics requirements for the bacn payloads and associated support equipment. The contractor will be able to demobilize bacn operational locations and establish new ground sites as dictated by mission requirements. Additionally, the contractor will be able to remove, alter, and install bacn payloads and a-kits from host aircraft.
