REPUBLIC OF CHAD MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE SECRETARIAT OF STATE GENERAL SECRETARIAT RESILIENT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTEC N`Djamena, FOOD INSECURITY IN CHAD GENERAL CONTRACT AWARENESS (AGPM) Project Code: PTCD0081 The Government of the Republic of Chad has been awarded US $ 28, 000, 000 in the form of a loan N 2CD 0096, 2CD 0097 and 2CD 0098 from the Islamic Development Banknt (IDB) to finance the Development of Resilience and Food Insecurity Project in Chad. Project Objectives: The objective of the project is to help reduce food insecurity and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in Chad. SpSpecifically, the PDRIAT has three key objectives: ? To improve the livelihoods of the target rural population by increasing the productive capacity of their assets; ? To develop the adaptation capacity of the target communities to climate change; ? To improve capacitydecision-makers to manage food crises. The project will comprise the following components: Component 1: Strengthening Resilience to Climate Change and Improving Food Security Intervenes for the Development of Water and Water Reclamation Infrastructureconservation of soil and storage facilities and construction of livestock markets; Component 2: Rehabilitation and Preservation of Rural Livelihoods Contributes to Improving the Livelihoods of the Targeted Rural Population by Increasing Rural Livelihood Capacityproduction of their assets, also the ability of decision-makers to manage food crises. Component 3: Project Management and Coordination supports project implementation activities by financing the operational costs of the National Coordination Unit. The acquisitions of BieWorks will be carried out in accordance with the Guidelines for Procurement, financed by the Islamic Development Bank (May 2009 edition revised in February 2012). Consultancy contracts will be awarded in accordance with the Guidelines for the Use of Consulsin the framework of projects financed by the Islamic Development Bank (May 2009 edition revised in February 2012).
