Short description : The Norwegian Folk Museum at Bygdy is Norway`s largest cultural history museum, and the only one that has nationwide collections from the time 1500 until today. With large collections from the urban and rural environment, the museum presents cultural conditions in a historical perspective as well as in today`s society. The foundation Norsk Folkemuseumalso includes museums and other businesses as affiliated entities. Today, the following are open to the public: - Bogstad Grd- Bygd Kongsgrd- Eidsvoll 1814- Ibsenmuseet- Norwegian Folk Museum The museum has a total floor area of 35, 000 m2 of which 14000 m2 is antiquarian. The museum property is approx. 140acres and houses 155 antiquarian buildings from various districts in Norway as well as buildings for the museum`s operation.
