United Nations Development Program Project: Strengthening labor conditions in public and private organizations by including gender equality TERMS OF REFERENCE UNDP Costa Rica requires contractinga Counselor in Statistics for the Project Strengthening working conditions in public and private organizations through the inclusion of gender equality (2016-2019). BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION In accordance with the National Policy for Effective Equality between women and men (20018-2030), gender difficulties and gaps persist in theEmployment that mainly affects women, in terms of: access to employment, non-traditional occupations, equal pay, protection against sexual harassment and harassment at work, equality in hiring, access to management positions and in some opportunities to the enjoyment of their own labor rights formally established in theCosta Rican labor legislation, such as social security. In this framework, the Equality and Gender Equity in Employment Program is created by theNational Women's Institute to promote the entry of women into the labor market and the improvement of the quality of their employment. which will address issues such as: intelabor remediation, selection and hiring, integral health in employment, family and labor co-responsibility, among others. The INAMU will adopt, from its autonomous nature, the necessary actions for the fulfillment of this objective. INAMU, since 2002 and up to date, has been working on the development of a management model on gender equality pfor the closing of gaps between women and men in employment.
