Description : The project improves the institutional capacity, knowledge management and implementation skills related to climate change adaptation of Tunisian authorities and civil society.

The core of the project is the development of individual management capacities to strengthen the institutional structures regarding adaptation to climate change especially in the priority sectors agriculture, water, coastal protection (ecosystem), health and tourism.

The project supports:

1) The central steering unit for climate policy in the Ministry of Environment;

2) Cross-sectoral cooperation and data collection regarding adaption measures between the ministries; and

3) Setting up a format for a dialogue on CC adaptation

Coordination between the relevant ministries and the nationwide exchange of information between the interest groups will be intensified.

The project supports the elaboration of the adaptation chapter on emissions reduction of the NDC. This will help the Tunisian government to comply with its international commitments on climate protection.
