Synopsis: The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price contract for EZ 2.3 Plus Evaporation System, for the Durham VAMC Research with Genevac Inc. in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)(B) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these services are highly specialized are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of 23 Aug 2019 to Genevac Inc.This is a Sole Source requirement to satisfy the minimum requirements of the Durham VAMC Research. The requiring activity is currently in need of EZ 2.3 Plus Evaporation System. This system is unique in that it is the only marketed evaporator that allows rapid evaporation from a wide variety of vessels that are required in our methods. It also prevents bumping and cross-contamination both of which are vital to the success of our studies. Also, with the pre-programmed methods, we can ensure consistency over the course of many studies. No other system(s) provide the pumping capacity or flexibility to evaporate 45 mL of ethyl acetate in 50 mL glass centrifuge tubes. With our increased sample demand, this system will allow us to handle our throughput more efficiently and reduce the bottleneck to evaporate high volume solvents. It will also enable us to use 50 mL glass centrifuge tubes as well as 12mm & 16 mm test tubes. Also, this system provides robust anti-bumping capability which prevents potential cross contamination of samples within the vacuum chamber. This is critical since we work with extremely low levels of analytes. The Genevac must connect to existing equipment that is processing the samples. The Genevac will be the final component to purify the samples for a successful aim. The samples will expire soon. The 927 samples are from 652 veterans and we are on a timeline. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government`s requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Officer within three (3) calendar days of this publication by contacting John...
