Part C Terms of Reference, Specifications, Deliverables, Special Provisions & Item Specific Special Provisions Special Provisions 1. Location and Scope of Work This Project is Located at #1531 County Road 15 in the Hamlet of Northport. the Intent of This Project is to Complete Improvements to Approximately 110 Metres of an Existing Drainage Ditch from County Road 15 Northerly to Improve the Discharge of Flows to the Bay of Quinte. the Existing Ditch is Located Along the West Property Line of #1531 County Road 15. the Ditch Receives Drainage which Crosses County Road 15 Through 2 Large Culverts (850Mm X 1450Mm and 800Mm X 1250). the County Has a 12 Metre Wide Easement Along the Approximate 110 Metre Length of the Proposed Ditch Improvements. All Work is to be Carried out Within the Confines of the County Easement. Work will Include the Removal of Existing Brush and Trees, Deepening and Reshaping the Ditch to Match the Proposed New Profile and Ditch Cross Section, Hand Placing of Two Layers of Stone Rip-Rap, Placement of Topsoil and Either Sodding or Hydroseeding at the Countys Direction. the Limits of the Improvements for This Project Are from County Road 15 Northerly Approximately 110 Metres. a Geotechnical Investigation of the Soils Within the Project Limits Was Completed and the Report is Attached to This Request for Quotation As Part F. As Noted in the Geotechnical Report Rock Was Encountered at the Existing Ditch Invert from Approximately Station 0+225 Northerly to the Project Limit at Station 0+170. All Surfaces Disturbed As a Result of Construction Activities that Are Not Specifically Within This Scope of Work Are to be Reinstated to Existing or Better Conditions at No Additional Cost to the Owner and to the Owners Satisfaction. Plans Sp-1 and Cs-1 Form Part of This Request for Quotation. 2. Schedule for Project Because of the Proximity of the Work to the Existing Residential Property, Once the Contractor Begins Work on the Project the Municipality Expects the Contractor to Remain on Site to Complete the Project As Soon As Possible. Responses to This Request for Quotation Shall Include the Contractors Proposed Schedule for Completing the Project Once Notification of Award of the Project Has Been Received from the Municipality. 3. Definition of Owner and Engineer Wherever the Word Owner, Corporation, Municipality, or Township Appears in This Contract, It Shall be Interpreted As Meaning the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward. Wherever the Word Engineer or Contract Administrator Appears It Shall be Deemed to Mean the Municipalitys Project Manager for This Contract. 4. Ontario Provincial Standards the Opss is the Standard Specification for This Contract. the Special Provisions and Tender Items will Take Precedence over the Opss where a Conflict Arises.
