The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) recognizes gender equality as a fundamental human right and a necessary basis for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. In addition, it recognizes the key role that gender equality has for the implementation and achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as others commitments agreed by Member States. Climate change and environmental degradation have profound social, environmental and economic impacts that differentially affect women and men, representing a great challenge for the well-being of women, especially for the poorest, being extremely vulnerable to abrupt environmental changesthat causes climate change.In this context, the Gender Area of the UNDP Regional Center for LAC is working together with the team Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Reduction to make visible and promote the incorporation of this perspective in the projects and programs related to Climate Change, Risk Managementdisasters and the environment more generally, showing the impact and positive correlation between the environment and gender equality for a more inclusive, egalitarian and sustainable development. The services of three experts are required for Technical Support for Gender Mainstreaming in the Programmatic Areas of Sustainable Development, Climate Change andDesatres reduction.
