Tender Details

Tender are invited for -RFQ-2021-80-AB-Edmonton-DA-Active Harmonic Filters

Project Description : EPCOR is looking for a Successful Proponent to fabricate, supply and deliver two (2) active harmonic filters to connect to a 600V MCC bus, complete with required external current transformers at EPCOR-s E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant. The E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant (ELS) operated by EPCOR Water Services Inc. (EWSI), utilizes a Sodium Hypochlorite generation system in its water treatment process that consists of five Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClO) Generators. Each NaClO generator operates via dedicated Direct Current (DC) rectifier with a passive harmonic filter located on the line side of each rectifier. The existing system was commissioned in 2007 and since that time, EWSI has experienced a number of failures of the existing filters to the point that two (2) passive harmonic filters have failed beyond the point of repair. As a result of these harmonic filter failures, the upstream circuit breakers have also experienced multiple failures requiring replacement. A power quality assessment was conducted in 2019 and it was determined that the existing passive filters no longer mitigate the harmonics generated by the downstream rectifiers to a sufficient level. For more information and to download the RFQ documents.
