Firm Consultant: Promoting Clean Energy Usage through Enhanced Adoption of Electric Vehicles and Grid Integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems Approval Date: 31-Mar-2021 Deadline of Submitting EOI: 03-Aug-2021 11:59 PM Manila local time Estimated Short-listing Date: 04-Aug-2021 Estimated Commencement Date: 01-Oct-2021 Estimated Commencement Date: 350, 000 USD Engagement Period: 9 MONTH Objective and Purpose of the Assignment The overall objective of this assignment is to support NITI Aayog to create a discourse towards increasing capacity to manufacture electric vehicles & their components in India and promote Electric Vehicles in India. ADB intends to engage the services of an international consultancy firm (the “Firm”) to fulfill the following objectives: • Perform a detailed assessment of the current EV supply chain and EV component manufacturing infrastructure in India; • Map the global best practices through benchmarking across leading countries against the existing EV ecosystem in India; and • Create a roadmap with an action plan and recommendations for localization of EV supply chain for EVs promotion in India. The Project-assigned consultants of the Firm (the “Consultants”) shall work closely and assist the Technical Assistance (“TA”) administrator - Asian Development Bank (“ADB”); the executing agency and implementing agency - [National Institution for Transforming India (“NITI”) Aayog; and other relevant agencies, as well as other team members under the TA, in undertaking assessments and due diligence and assist in enabling the preparation of an integrated development plan / road map for promoting accelerated deployment of EV in India and for selected states. With the full support of the government-s central planning agency (NITI Aayog) and strong partnerships with power distribution companies and other key players in the EV-renewable energy value chain, this TA project will help the government meet its clean energy targets.
