MOGADISHU, (SANA) - President Mohammed Abdullah Faramajo expressed his thanks and gratitude to the government and people of Qatar on the development and humanitarian projects of the Republic of Somalia and the progress made by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. In support of the people and the Government of Somalia in various fields, appreciating the great gains that will accrue to his country from those projects, especially road projects in view of their positive impact on the Somali economy as a whole. This came during a meeting between His Excellency the President of Somalia, Khalifa Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Development Fund, to sign contracts and lay the foundation stone for two roads projects in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Somalia. Mr. Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari, General Manager of Qatar Development Fund, signed a contract for two road projects, namely Mogadishu Road, Afgoye Road with the main contractor / INIS Insat of Turkey, and a contract to provide consultancy services with Qatar Project Management Company. The foundation stone for the two projects was put in place on behalf of His Excellency the President of Somalia Mr. Hassan Ali Khairi, Prime Minister of Somalia. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Somalia, and a delegation from the Public Works Authority. A number of ministers, officials and parliamentarians attended the signing ceremony. The length of Mogadishu-Jowhar road is 90 kilometers, while the length of the Mogadishu-Afgoye road is 22 kilometers.

The two projects aim to support Somali brethren by providing adequate infrastructure to stimulate the country's economy, as well as new job opportunities in the market, which will accelerate the development of the country. These two projects are also part of Qatar Development Fund's interest in development projects, which are two long-term development projects that ensure stability for the people of the region and enhance security. They also facilitate their lives to meet daily life requirements. Internal and external economy.
