The French Agency for Development has agreed to finance several projects in the city of Jerash, the most important of which is the project of the class complex and the last floor is a hotel and a project to develop and maintain the old market in Jerash, the project of cleaning the facades of the shops in the center of the city and unifying the karamat. Greater Jerash municipality Hisham al-Banna, who indicated that the cost of these projects is estimated at 11 million dollars.

Al-Banna stressed that these projects have received preliminary approval by the Agency, after completion of the study, while the tunnel project and some roads, has been rejected and the draft slaughterhouse was rejected, despite the importance and the need for conservation.

It is worth mentioning that the Greater Jerash Municipality succeeded in attracting the programs of the French Agency for Development for Municipalities Development, which selected 8 municipalities to finance projects worth 60 million dinars.

Al-Banna said that the value of the grant is $ 11 million, and the municipality has sought various ways to obtain this grant and to benefit from it in the tourism projects in Jerash. The most important of these is the project of the class complex and the project of development, maintenance and restoration of the ancient market and archaeological museum project within the urban city, Heritage, historical and archaeological, as well as the expansion, restoration and development of many roads, entrances and exits to the city of Jerash and the maintenance and restoration of the Hashemite Square.

Al-Banna believes that this grant is a great opportunity to develop tourism projects in Jerash and renovate them. It is also working on preparing the urban center to connect with the ancient city, which is one of the most important tourism projects that the municipality is seeking to implement. Identify studies and approve projects to be implemented.

During the correspondence, the French Ambassador was invited several times and organized tours in Jerash and then obtained a French exploration grant in the eastern Hammamet and the extraction of precious and rare statues and artifacts.

Al-Banna said that the municipality implemented the lighting project in the old market in an artistic and engineering way. It is lighting in the air and on bridges and is compatible with the age of the market, its history and the feature it will be used in.

Al-Banna believes that this grant is expected to be implemented in the coming year. This work requires greater efforts from Jerash Municipality and other concerned parties to complete vital tourism projects in Jerash.

Al-Banna hoped that the class complex would be one of the first projects to be implemented within the French grant after the failure of its inclusion in the stages of the third tourism project. The project has not yet been implemented. The municipality has always demanded that this project be implemented in Jerash Which is characterized by a severe traffic crisis around the clock, although the municipality in cooperation with the concerned authorities organized several campaigns for the center of the city, but to no avail.
